Philly!

I'm leaving tomorrow for Philadelphia. It's the annual AWF Board retreat. So, in a addition to seeing my fellow board members, I am thrilled to be visiting a new city!

The weekend will be packed with meetings, but there should be time to explore the city on Saturday night and monday before I leave.

Looking forward to getting away (although I am sure am going to miss that puppy!) and visiting the right coast.

Welcome Bailey

Here is the newest addition to our family, Bailey Alexander Cook!
Bailey was a rescue from the Downey shelter. When we found him, he was matted, shaking and so scared.
He is around 1 year old.
In just one week he is a different dog.

I love him so much.

It's that time again. Got Water 2009!

Another year, and people in Africa ( and many other places) still lack access to a clean glass of water. Pathetic, isn't it?
So, another year and African Well Fund has yet another auction. 100% of the proceeds from every auction item this week will go towards building wells and clean water projects in Africa.

This year my participation was limited to procuring auction items from rock stars :p
I was successful with The Swell Season, and with The Edge of U2.

The auction runs from Monday, November 9th through Sunday, November 13th.

Walk to the Water: African Well Fund

This year marks the 6th annual "Build a Well For Bono's Birthday" fundraiser. Started online in 2003, the yearly drive to honor the inspiration Bono has given us has raised over $100,000 USD in the past five years. The drive runs until 5/10/2008 (Bono's 48th bday).

This year the theme is Walk to the Water inspired by the U2 Joshua Tree b-side from the 1980's.

This year's project will go to support clean water projects in the Gokwe region of Zimbabwe. More info on that later.
